Revised classic, but nothing beats the very easy to make, homemade fresh lime cordial.


The Herbalist Gin 60 ml
Fresh lime cordial 15 ml
Fresh lime juice 1 big bar spoon


To make a Freezer Martini cocktail, you will need bar tools like a mixing glass, jigger, strainer, citrus juicer, bar spoon and ice cubes for measuring, mixing, and serving the ingredients. A citrus peeler or zester for garnish. A freezer or ice for glass chilling. A coupette or Gimlet glass.


  • Stir with ice cubes. Fine strain. Serve in a chilled coupette. Garnish with lime zest. It can be also served on the rocks, garnished with a lime wedge.

Homemade lime cordial:

  1. To prepare the fresh lime cordial for 2 drinks, simply take 50g of caster sugar, with the freshly grated zest of 1 lime, and the juice of the lime (should be 30ml-ish).
  2. Gently warm it up over a small heat, but don’t bring it to boil. Keep stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Once all the sugar has dissolved, turn off the heat, and let it cool down.
  3. Fine strain and bottle, store in a fridge.
