Take a stylish journey back in time with a reimagined Cosmopolitan. Invented in 1988 by Toby Cecchini at The Odeon in NYC, the cocktail soared to fame through "Sex and the City."
Ingredients
The Herbalist Gin | 45 ml |
Cointreau | 15 ml |
Freshly squeezed lemon juice | 25 ml |
Homemade raspberry syrup | 15 ml |
Material
To make a Cosmopolitan cocktail, you will need bar tools like a jigger, shaker, strainer, citrus juicer, ice for measuring, mixing, and serving the ingredients. A freezer or ice for glass chilling. A coupette or Martini glass.
Method
- In a shaker with ice, combine The Herbalist gin, Cointreau, lemon juice, and raspberry syrup.
- Shake the mixture vigorously until well-chilled.
- Double strain the concoction into a Martini glass.

Homemade raspberry syrup:
- In a saucepan, bring 945 ml of water, 945 ml of granulated sugar, and 250 gr of raspberries to a gentle boil.
- Simmer the mixture for five minutes, then allow it to cool completely.
- Strain out the solids and store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
